SIDESTREETS AND LANEWAYS

Sidestreets and Laneways is a photographic exploration of the laneways and little streets of Melbourne’s CBD, “the village within the city.” Fifteen photographers spent 18 months exploring these lesser-known streets in the heart of Melbourne. The aim of the project was to record life in this community and document the transformation from neglected backwaters to the vibrant places many of them have become. Sidestreets and Laneways was exhibited at the Old Treasury Building, Melbourne, in early 2012.
