CATHY RONALDS

Cathy Ronalds is a portrait and documentary photographer based in Victoria. She enjoys producing portrait-based storytelling images that convey a sense of relationship and intimacy with her subjects. Cathy was the winner of the Maggie Diaz Photographic Prize for Women in 2019, the winner of the Australian Photography Awards (documentary) in 2019, a finalist in the Iris Awards Perth Centre for Contemporary Photography in 2019 and a finalist in Head On in 2020.

Currently she is engaged in a long-term portrait series exploring the notion of femininity. Cathy recently completed a series about same sex couples with children in religiously conservative Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, and a series on her grandmother in aged care.
